In this Cultural Resource Management Toolbox there are 9 sites. In this Tasks section you will be looking closely at the conservation needs of 4 of these sites - The Knapping Site at the Learningscape, the Inland Site, the Lakeside Site and the Coastal Site. Each of these sites has had environmental impacts caused by nature or people. How a site officer responds to environmental impacts on various sites is more often a consideration of site conservation rather than site interpretation. As such these tasks relate to cultural site conservation rather than archaeology. In the first 4 Conservation Tasks you have to: decide what kind of environmental impact has happened on each site; decide what is the best response to the impact to conserve the site; and work out what it will take to in time and money to carry out the conservation and preservation work; sequence the implementation of the task required; and draw a plan of the site with the implemented tasks shown. In Task 5, you have to decide which sites are most important and significant. Then you have to plan how you're going to spend a limited budget to best conserve the sites in order of importance. In Task 6, the final task you have to draw up a conservation plan for a site in your own country. |
