	G'day - welcome to the Cultural Resource Management Toolbox I'm Alan, most people call me Uncle Al We're about to go on a bit of a journey. A journey through country and a journey through time. I've been working in country for years As I'm going around people keep telling me about all the stuff that's left lying about from the old days I knew a little bit from what I got told by elders, but in the end I had to learn more I got some training and a whole lot of years of just plain looking and listening Now I'm a cultural sites officer and some people reckon I'm not too bad at it so they got me to show you around This training program is called a Toolbox In this Toolbox we're going to look at some of the skills and knowledge you need to be a Cultural Site Officer In this program you learn to be a tracker, not a tracker over the ground but a tracker through time And maybe if you can get a bit of the knowledge and the feeling you can get to feel like I do sometimes Just every now and then walking beside the old fellows almost like they was just around the next bend in the creek, just over the next hill Check out those bubbles below me, they're the main sections of the toolbox If you click on the Learningscape and Other Site sections you can explore 9 different sites. Just wander about and when you're ready see if you can handle the Site Survey, Tasks or Build Your Own sections and I'll jump in every now and then and give you a hand You will bump into another site officer while you're out there. Val's her name, knows her stuff, a bit more scientific than me but worth a listen to. Look out for her, she gives you more of an idea of how to get the best out of this Toolbox in the Getting Started section.
